At 1647 hrs on May 20th, Strafford County Dispatch Center toned Durham Fire for a request for mutual aid response to Northwood. Traveling almost 20 miles, crews from Engine One and the Ladder discovered the Johnson Farm complex, a historic dairy farm, was in engulfed with fire in mulitple buidings, including a barn, farmhouse and silo. Hampered by wind which kept the heavy smoke close to the ground, Durham members worked with crews for several hours on the house portion of the fire while others fought to keep the fires in other buildings under control. Eventually, the incident required a 6 alarm assignment. See the Fosters article here. 23 May 10
