16 Sept 2009 At 0631 hours the morning of Sept 14, Strafford County Dispatch toned Durham Rescue One to respond mutual aid to the town of Madbury, for extrication of one victim from a single motor vehicle crash. On arrival, members found an upright mid-sized SUV 15 feet off the road into the woods, with one male occupant in the back seat, his injuries being treated by EMS personnel and Madbury fire fighters. With the vehicle stabilized by Madbury, Durham members deployed the cutters and spreaders, quickly giving personnel the room needed to remove the victim, who was believed to have a femur fracture. MMEMS transported one to Wentworth Douglas hospital.
